The same words “yellow maize” or “yellow corn” do not establish food grade, feed grade or processing suitability. Intended use changes the specification, contaminant scope, treatment restrictions, documents and importer approvals.
State the finished food/process, kernel identity, moisture and defect limits, mycotoxin/residue and microbiological scope, GMO declaration needs and destination food rules.
State species/use, nutritional fields, contaminants, treatment restrictions, feed-establishment requirements and destination feed documentation. Food acceptance must not be inferred.
State the target output—such as grits, flour or starch—and the processor's kernel, hardness, colour, defect and application-trial requirements.
Do not describe chemically treated seed as food or feed. Seed identity, treatment, labelling, licensing and export conditions require a separate regulatory workflow.
Use the food-grain identity in the Codex maize standard (CXS 153-1985) and check the current DGFT export schedule. For processed outputs, compare maize grits, maize flour and corn starch; write the RFQ with the purchase-specification guide.

Contract note: Crop and lot variation is inherent to agricultural products. Tolerances, testing scope, packing and documents are finalised against the approved sample, COA and Proforma Invoice.
Screening, cleaning and sorting steps are selected for the intended use and contracted defect limits, then checked using the agreed sampling plan.
Accredited laboratories can test moisture, admixture and broken on request, with the report format and scope confirmed in the Proforma Invoice.
Fumigation and phytosanitary paperwork is completed according to the destination country's import requirements.
Invoice, packing list and transport document are standard. Origin, analysis, inspection, phytosanitary, fumigation or other certificates are included only when applicable and agreed before contracting.
