Start with the correct product identity

Whole green mung, also called green gram or moong, is Vigna radiata. Dehulled or split yellow moong is a processed form and should not share the same specification. FSSAI's pulse notification identifies green gram/moong and provides general pulse quality context.

Write size as a distribution, not a marketing label

A single millimetre claim does not show how much of the lot meets that size. State the sieve openings, retained and passing percentages, sample preparation, tolerance and whether the approved sample controls colour and appearance. Keep size evidence separate from purity, defects and origin.

Purchase-specification checklist

  • Whole green mung or another processed form.
  • Cooking, milling or sprouting intended use.
  • Crop year, country and region supported by lot records.
  • Named size, moisture, extraneous-matter and defect methods.
  • Residue, contaminant and microbiological limits for the destination.
  • Representative sampling, sealed counter-sample and lot-linked reports.
  • Bag/liner, net weight, markings, pallet and container conditions.

Separate ordinary food lots from sprouting lots

Ordinary pulse acceptance does not prove sprouting suitability. If beans will be sprouted, declare that use before procurement and agree seed treatment status, germination expectations, pathogen controls, microbiological sampling, cold-chain or handling responsibilities and destination rules.

Match documents to the actual shipment

APEDA lists moong among India's major pulses, but product-category or exporter registration does not replace a shipment specification. Match lot numbers, weights, dates, origin, test reports, packing list and seal record before release.

Buyer workflow: Review the whole green mung product page, build terms with the purchase-specification guide, define COA requirements, and request a trade sample.
