Africa Import Compliance

SGS / COTECNA Pre-Shipment Inspection

Many African countries (Benin, Togo, Guinea) require mandatory pre-shipment inspection. We work with SGS and COTECNA inspectors at origin — certification included in our export documentation.

Phytosanitary Certificates

Required for all cereals and spices. Issued by India's NPPO through APEDA. We arrange this automatically for every shipment — no additional action required from the buyer.

Certificate of Origin (COO)

COO is issued by FIEO or Chamber of Commerce. We provide apostilled and legalized versions for countries that require Embassy authentication.

ECOWAS / COMESA Tariffs

Most Indian agricultural commodities enter West Africa under ECOWAS CET (Common External Tariff). Rice attracts 10–35% depending on product type. We advise on HS classification for minimum duty liability.

Payment Terms — Africa

We accept 100% Irrevocable LC at sight, TT 30% advance + 70% against scan BL, and for established clients, open account terms after 3 successful transactions.

Fumigation Certificates

Required for all grain products entering African ports. We provide methyl bromide or phosphine fumigation certificates from certified operators prior to container sealing.
